Okay ladies, so we know that what we eat and drink affects our mood and the way be feel about our body. Too much sugar or a big feast and all we want to do is curl up for a nap.
Tip it back the other way and chow down on some fresh greens or a smoothie filled with wholesome ingredients and our energy soars. If some or all of those ingredients are organic? Even better.
High vibe foods nourish our body from the inside out.
But what about what we apply to the surface of our skin? Its our biggest organ after all.
We’ll often fork out hundreds, even thousands on beauty treatments, lotions, potions and pills to get glowy, but have you ever considered what those chemicals are doing to you within?
The average women slathers herself in 168 cosmetic based chemicals per day. And while there are almost 13,000 chemicals used in cosmetics, only about 10 percent have been evaluated for safety.
What does that mean for you?
Our skin absorbs up to 60% of everything we put on it and when the products we use are filled with chemicals, that toxicity can travel straight to our blood. Side effects range from mild skin irritation and rashes to cancer, reproductive and developmental problems.
What can you do differently?
When we try to be perfect, we get paralysed. It can become overwhelming constantly worrying about each ingredient in every product that we use, so start small.
Start becoming more conscious of what’s listed on the labels of the cosmetics you buy. If there is mention of these chemicals, steer clear.
To make the transition easier, as your old favourites run out (things like toothpaste, moisturiser, deodorant and shower gel) consciously swap them for cleaner, toxin free alternatives. doTERRA have a great range, see below for how to purchase.
We also love to experiment and make our own.
